The main topics discussed during this session are leadership, technology, minimally invasive surgery, and how technology accelerates the learning curve.  During this informal talk, Dr. Soliman will answer questions from the audience live.

Dr. Soliman says that Artificial Intelligence in the OR can help in terms of analytics and machine learning to improve surgeons’ decision-making. There is no better future in terms of surgery - this is the way that we must follow.  

Furthermore, robotics is one of the main advances in the field of surgery today because it allows us to be more precise and faster, minimizing surgical error. However, many other technologies are taking the market by storm such as virtual reality, machine learning, and augmented reality. 

Dr. Soliman performs robotics surgery on an everyday basis, and his main advice is to be aware of what’s happening during the surgery and try out to keep the robot under control.

Finally, Dr. Mark Soliman gives an overview of the difficulty implementing technology in the OR and discusses Next Gen Robotics, a new technological trend that is starting to be implemented during surgeries.

Dr. Mark Soliman is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon. He is the Medical Director of Colorectal Surgery for the AdventHealth Digestive Health and Surgery Institute and also the Department Chairman for Colorectal Surgery.
