Dr. María Rodríguez is a thoracic surgeon specializing in lung cancer, patient safety, patient-reported outcomes, and minimally invasive surgery. She holds an MD from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a PhD from the Universidad de Salamanca. Dr. Rodríguez trained in various international hospitals, including Mount Sinai, Massachusetts General Hospital, UCSF, UCLA, Saint Thomas Hospital in London, and Saint Louis and La Laribossiere Hospitals in Paris.

During her residency at Salamanca University Hospital, Dr. Rodríguez published research on risk evaluation, results, and quality audits in thoracic surgery. She was recognized as the best resident by the Salamanca Academy of Medicine and obtained her USMLE certification. She later completed a fellowship in minimally invasive thoracic and foregut surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, where she became an AATS Robotic Thoracic Surgical Fellow.

Dr. Rodríguez is currently attending the Thoracic Surgery Department at Clinica Universidad de Navarra in Madrid. She has developed the thoracic and esophageal robotic surgery programs and is actively involved in patient safety, operating room quality outcomes, the infection diseases commission, and the cost-efficiency and product selection group. Dr. Rodríguez is an Associate Clinical Professor and contributes to scientific research. She serves as a proctor for Abex/Intuitive, promoting safe robotic thoracic surgery implementation in Spain, and is a Thoracic Surgery reviewer for the scientific platform Cientifix.

In summary, Dr. Rodríguez is a young, motivated thoracic surgeon with expertise in clinical research, management, cost-effectiveness, standardization measures, safety, risk stratification, and quality outcomes in thoracic surgery.
