Dr Aakansha Giri Goswami is a Resident in the department of general surgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh, India. She has completed her basic medical education at the Manipal College of Medical Sciences, Kathmandu University, Nepal with a Gold medal in Forensic Medicine and a Distinction in Otorhinolaryngology.
Currently, she is a resident member of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Academic International Medicine. She is also a part of the Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeons (TUGS) Early Surgical Trainees Committee.
Besides being a training surgeon, Dr Goswami is an academic enthusiast and has published her works in various esteemed indexed and peer-reviewed journals. She has presented the same on numerous national and international platforms. She is also a peer reviewer at the British Student Doctor, Cardiff University, UK and has reviewed the publications of the European Journal of Medical Research, Springer Nature and BMC Surgery amongst others.
For her contribution to the medical field, she was laurelled the Young Achiever Award by the Institute of Scholars, India.
At present, her main professional and scientific interest focus on wound healing and surgical infections. However, she has a keen interest in persuading plastic and microvascular surgery in future.
