Dr. Albert Jáuregui Abularach is the head of the Thoracic Surgery and Lung Transplant Service at Vall d'Hebron Hospital and of the Jáuregui Institute of Thoracic Surgery at Quirón Salud Hospital in Barcelona. He is nationally and internationally recognized for his work and experience in lung transplantation and lung cancer surgery using minimally invasive techniques.
At the national level, he is one of the forerunners in lung and mediastinal surgery using robotic surgery. As a specialist in this field, he has focused his interest in videothoracoscopy and robotic surgery. He is also a researcher in several lines of experimental thoracic surgery such as the application of new pulmonary aerostasis products, ex vivo lung transplantation and the creation of lung transplant models.
Currently, he is the president of the Catalan Society of Thoracic Surgery and reviewer of the European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery.
