Dr. Andrés Motta-Amar is a Medical Doctor graduated from the National University of Colombia and is currently a General Surgery resident at the Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá University Hospital, in affiliation with the Andes University. 

Prior to beginning his surgical training, Dr. Motta-Amar held various clinical and research positions, actively participating in projects aimed at improving health outcomes and strengthening scientific evidence in his field. He is the author of several publications in scientific journals and has contributed as a reviewer and collaborator for different academic outlets.

His main areas of interest include global surgery, surgical leadership, minimally invasive surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery. His clinical and academic work focuses on enhancing quality of surgical care, promoting innovation in less invasive techniques, and participating in initiatives that support equitable access to high-quality surgical services.
