Dr Bhalla is a senior consultant surgeon with over 25 years of experience. His area of expertise includes Laparoscopy and Robotic surgery and therapeutic GI Endoscopy (UGI ENDOSCOPY- Variceal banding, Stricture Dilatations, Esophageal/Duodenal Stenting, foreign body extractions, Sclerotherapy, PEG, Intragastric Balloon Placement etc.; Colonoscopy- Polypectomies, Colonic Stenting etc.; and ERCP- for CBD stones or Stricture disease, CBD Stenting etc.

Dr Bhalla has served as teaching faculty at various medical college and teaching hospitals and has been examiner for MBBS and BDS examination. He has a vast teaching experience of over 17 years after completion of his specialization.

Dr Bhalla is a passionate teacher, and continues to teach and train surgeons through his various teaching and academic engagements. He serves as:

  2. Course Director - Diploma in MAS, WLH

  3. Course Director - Fellowship in Robotic Surgery, WLH

  4. Course Director - Fellowship in GI Endoscopy, WLH.

  5. Course Director, GI Endoscopy Workshop, held at ISS Hospital, 23rd-24th January, 2021.

  6. Conducted ERCP Workshop and Hands- On Course, Govt. Medical College, Patiala, 18th November,2021

  7. Global Coordinator, TUGSS ENDOSCOPY—TUGSS (The Upper Gastro-intestinal Surgical Society) is an International Organization of Surgeons; as the Chief Coordinator for TUGSS Endoscopy, Ihe is involved in organizing various academic activities of TUGSS, including conducting TUGSS Endoscopy academic webinars

Dr Bhalla is regularly invited as Guest Speaker, and faculty for national and international conferences, workshops and academic webinars.

Dr Bhalla is associated as life member with various surgical societies such as WALS, Association Surgeon of India (ASI), Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (AMASI), Indian Association of Gastro-Intestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (IAGES), Indian Hernia Society (IHS), The Upper Gastrointestinal Surgical Society (TUGSS), The Robotic Global Surgical Society and International Society of Fluorescence Guided Surgery.
