Dr. Chen Long is a Chinese medical doctor and scientist who specializes in surgery. He graduated with a degree in Clinical Medicine from Nanhua University School of Medicine in 2012 and continued his education at Central South University in Changsha, Hunan, where he received his MD in Clinical Medicine in 2015 and his PhD in Surgery in 2020.

Dr. Long has had extensive training in his field, completing the Program of the Standardized Residents Training from 2012 to 2015 and the Program of the Standardized General Surgery Training from 2020 to 2022. He has held various positions throughout his career, including as a science researcher at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine from 2017 to 2019 and as a resident in the Department of General Surgery at The Second Xiangya Hospital, Central South University from 2020 to 2022.

Dr. Long's research has focused on various areas related to surgery, including the role of inflammatory gene transcription in THP-1 cells, the modulation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacterial load in lung epithelial cells, and the association of long-term visit-to-visit variability of HbA1c and fasting glycemia with hypoglycemia in type 2 diabetes mellitus. He has authored or co-authored multiple papers in peer-reviewed journals, including Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Gene Regulatory Mechanisms, American Journal of Physiology - Lung Cellular and Molecular Physiology, and Frontiers in Endocrinology.

Dr. Long currently serves as an attending physician in the Department of General Surgery at The Second Xiangya Hospital, Central South University.
