Prof. Donato Francesco Altomare is a prominent national and international medical figure who has now been practicing in the field of General Surgery and Colonproctology for more than 30 years. He has attended numerous training and residency courses at the most prestigious international centers, such as London Hospital Medical College and Royal London Hospital Whitechape in London, Cleveland Clinic in Florida, Forde Hospital of the University of Bergen in Norway, and New York State University on Long Island. A recipient of numerous international awards, he is a frequent speaker and moderator at various scientific conferences, as well as the author of countless scientific publications. He is currently the Head of the Coloproctology Unit at the University of Bari Polyclinic and Associate Professor of General Surgery at the same University.
