Dr. Dures Fe E. Tagayuna is a distinguished medical professional renowned for her expertise in General Surgery and Pediatric Surgery. She completed her medical education at UST – Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in 1986 and went on to pursue extensive postgraduate training in various institutions both locally and internationally.

Her professional journey includes serving as Chief Resident in General Surgery at St. Martin de Porres Charity Hospital from 1988 to 1993, followed by a Chief Fellow position in Pediatric Surgery at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center from 1994 to 1996. Dr. Tagayuna further honed her skills through observational fellowships in Pediatric Surgery at Children’s Hospital Medical Center, University of Cincinnati, and National Children’s Hospital, Hanoi, Vietnam.

Certified by the Philippine Board of Surgery in General Surgery in 1994 and Pediatric Surgery in 1996, Dr. Tagayuna has held various instructional roles in advanced life support courses. She currently serves as a Professor at the Jose P. Rizal School of Medicine, Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan, while pursuing ongoing studies for a Master of Science in Health and Hospital Management and a Master of Business Administration.

Throughout her career, Dr. Tagayuna has held several leadership positions within professional organizations, notably serving as President of the Philippine College of Surgeons (PCS) - Northern Mindanao Chapter in 2005 and 2008, as well as Vice-Chair of the PCS Board of Governors in 2011. She has also contributed significantly to specialty societies such as the Philippine Society of Pediatric Surgeons, where she held positions as Vice President and Council Member.

In addition to her medical roles, Dr. Tagayuna has been actively involved in socio-civic engagements, serving as a Philippine Army Reservist with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and holding positions such as Assistant Governor at Rotary International District 3870.

Currently, Dr. Tagayuna serves as the President of Saint Francis Doctors’ Hospital and Medical Center, where she continues to make invaluable contributions to the medical field and her community.
