Dr. Dimitrakopoulou Evangelia is a Consultant General Surgeon with special interest in colorectal surgery, in the University Surgical Department of General and Oncological Hospital of Kifissia “Agioi Anargyroi”, being also a member of the Oncological Board. She is a PhD candidate in National and Kapodistrian University of Athens focusing on the role of steroid hormones on colorectal cancer and also holds an MSc diploma on Surgical Oncology of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Dr. Dimitrakopoulou has gained great experience during her residency in gastrointestinal surgery, emergency surgery and trauma, obtaining through the years the ATLS, ALS certificates as well as training in emergency ultrasound and advanced laparoscopic surgery. She also has a fruitful appearance in many Surgical Conferences with presentations and posters as well, and currently is an active member of many organizations such as the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery and the European Society of Coloproctology.
She also has been a volunteer in many important organizations such as Medecins du Monde Greece, ActionAid, Greenpeace, ActUp Greece and Medecins sans Frontiers Greece.
Currently her other interests apart from colorectal and oncological surgery, focus on artificial intelligence in surgery, sustainability in surgery, minimal invasive techniques and management and leadership in healthcare.
