Gabriele Naldini was born in Milan, where he studied Medicine and earned his medical degree with the highest honors. He later specialized in Digestive Surgery and Surgical Endoscopy at the same university, also with honors. From an early age, sport played a defining role in his life: he was a member of the Italian National Swimming Team, an experience that shaped his discipline and commitment. Outside his professional sphere, he describes himself as passionate about sports and deeply connected to his family, which he considers a fundamental pillar in his life.

His professional career began in Digestive Surgery, then shifted toward Colorectal Surgery and, ultimately, focused on Proctology and Pelvic Floor Surgery, the specialty in which he has developed much of his career. In 2010, at the University Hospital of Pisa, he launched the first Multidisciplinary Clinical Center for Proctology and the Pelvic Floor in Italy, with the aim of addressing complex conditions in this field through a comprehensive, coordinated approach. For more than fifteen years, he has promoted joint work among specialties as an essential foundation for achieving meaningful improvements in patients’ quality of life.

He is currently on a temporary leave of absence from his role as Director of the Multidisciplinary Clinical Center for Proctology and the Pelvic Floor, as well as from the Proctologic and Perineal Surgical Unit, both at the University Hospital of Pisa. During this period, he has begun a collaboration as a Senior Consultant with the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Humanitas Hospital in Milan. He also serves as a consultant at San Rossore Private Hospital in Pisa and leads the School of Proctology and Pelvic Floor of the Italian Society of Surgery (S.I.C.).

Gabriele Naldini combines his clinical work with notable teaching, research, and clinical leadership activities, always aimed at improving comprehensive care in proctology and training new generations of professionals from a multidisciplinary, ethical, and scientific perspective.
