Since 2000, Dr Martínez Pallí has been part of the staff of the Anesthesiology Service of Hospital Clínic, since 2015 as a senior consultant, having been appointed Head of Service in October 2017. She completed her residency in Anesthesiology at the same Hospital Clínic and since the end of her residency she remained linked to that hospital, first as a fellow physician of the ISCIII through a FIS project and, subsequently with temporary contracts until she opted for an indefinite position.
She completed her research training with a one-year stay (2007-8) as Visiting Assistant Professor at the Medicine School, UCSF, USA, receiving a grant from the "Salvador Madariaga" program of the MEC (PR2007-0408). She is an expert in anesthesia in general digestive surgery, including laparoscopic gastroesophageal surgery, colorectal surgery, NOTES surgery and liver transplantation. Responsible for the implementation of the anesthesia team in the Digestive Endoscopy Unit. In this line of work, he is also Member of the Pulmonary Hypertension (PHT) Working Group since 2012- participating in the drafting of clinical guidelines and circuit design, responsible for the circuit to be followed by patients with PHT who must undergo any invasive procedure in our hospital and the drafting of preoperative management guidelines for these patients and especially those affected by porto-pulmonary hypertension). He has also worked on surgical patient safety and is a member of the board of directors of SENSAR (Spanish Notification System for Safety in Anesthesia and Resuscitation). For some years now, he has focused his activity and has been responsible for the coordination of the pre-surgical evaluation of patients at risk with an important participation in the drafting of internal clinical guidelines and clinical decision committees. In this context, she launched in 2015, supported by previous research studies, the preHABilitation Unit at Hospital Clínic of which she is responsible, and is developing a pilot plan focused on chronic patients and the translational model.
