Dr. Guri Majak is a Senior Consultant Gynecologist and Endometriosis Surgeon at the Department of Gynecology, Oslo University Hospital, in Oslo, Norway.
Dr. Majak is also the current Head of the National Advisory Board for endometriosis and adenomyosis in Norway. She has been member of the ISON (International Society of Nevropelveology) Board since 2023.
Dr. Majak is a part of the Norwegian Respiratory Joint Task Force appointed by the health department to develop guidelines for the investigation and treatment of patients with endometriosis and adenomyosis and is the lead author of the National Guidelines on these diseases. She is also the author of the popular science book ”Endometriosis: How painful should your period be?”.
Her main professional and scientific interests focus on endometriosis surgery, quality of care, and how to find and treat the disease in affected adolescents and young women. She has also held lectures about health economics, both the cost of endometriosis to society and how to run an OR in an efficient and economical manner to benefit more patients.
