Miss Helena Burden is a Consultant Urological Surgeon specializing in non-muscle invasive bladder cancer at the Bristol Urological Institute (BUI), Southmead Hospital, Bristol, UK. She has been a Consultant there since 2016 and is current bladder cancer lead for the unit.
Miss Burden is a member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons and has interests both in both bladder cancer and education. She is education lead for the Urology unit, leads the South West TULA collaborative and has developed a SouthWest urology portfolio pathway rotation.
As lead for BUI education and courses, she has developed and run local and National Urology courses, such as flexible cystoscopy masterclass, FRCS Urol viva course, Essentials in Urology course and ST3 bootcamp bladder cancer module lead.
She undertook a MD during her training investigating diagnostics within Urology, and has continued her research interest since. She is author of a significant number of scientific peer reviewed papers, has lectured extensively on bladder cancer and is currently on the TMG for HIVEC HEAT and is local sPI for MOONRISE study.
