Dr. Juan Luis Vásquez is a leading urologist, researcher, and academic specializing in urothelial cancer. He is Senior Consultant and Chief of the Urothelial Cancer Team at Zealand University Hospital Roskilde and Associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen. His vision is to make bladder cancer management more patient-friendly and cost-effective through innovation and research.
With a PhD in electrochemotherapy for bladder cancer, Dr. Vásquez has contributed 26 peer-reviewed publications (H-index: 12), secured a granted patent for a device capable of performing transurethral electroporation, and attracted over €270,000 in research funding. He supervises three PhD students, focusing on novel treatment strategies.
He holds key leadership roles, including Chair of the EAU Young Urologist Office, Board Member of the European Association of Urology, Board of European Urology Scholarship Program, co-chair of the bladder cancer group at the EAU section of Endourology and Board of the Danish Bladder Cancer Group.
