Kiersten Kanaley is Cleveland Clinic’s Executive Director, Talent Acquisition
Operations. Kiersten comes to Cleveland Clinic from Scripps Health, a nonprofit,
integrated health system in San Diego, California, where she was Corporate Talent
Acquisition & Talent Development Director. In this position, among other
accomplishments, Kiersten achieved a 24-hour req-approved-to-req-posted cycle time,
decreased time-to-fill cycle time to 29 days for all jobs and 26 days for direct care RNs,
and reduced hiring manager review-to-interview schedule cycle time by 10 days. She
also won the 2020 HRO Candidate Experience Award for COVID-19 Critical Care RN
recruitment outcomes.
Before that, Kiersten was Senior Delivery Director at AMN Healthcare in San Diego,
where she generated $1.6 million increased revenue year-over-year through a Lean Six
Sigma Green Belt project and increased travel nurse fulfilment by 26% year-over-year
for the nation’s largest utilizer of contingent labor; and Talent Acquisition Director at
New York-Presbyterian Hospital, New York City, where she increased hires year-over-
year while decreasing time-to-accept, and filled 6,000 positions in 2015.
Here at Cleveland Clinic, Kiersten has been leading recruiting efforts to increase the
hiring and training of a more diverse workforce. In addition, Kiersten has helped Talent
Acquisition create the modern candidate experience by meeting candidates where they
are. This includes building transformational relationships with hiring managers and
overseeing the implementation of the HireVue automated hiring platform, which is
helping expedite the screening and hiring of the best candidates.
Kiersten has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, specializing in Public
Relations, and Communication Studies, specializing in Human Resource Management,
from Towson University. She also holds certifications as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt,
DDI Targeted Selection Master Trainer, Talent Acquisition Strategist, and a Recruiter
Academy Certified Recruiter.
Kiersten enjoys spending time with her family, including her son Otis, and cooking. She
also enjoys music, especially live music, and may be the world’s biggest Pearl Jam fan.
