Dr. Laura Romero has a degree in Medicine from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and is a specialist in Thoracic Surgery from the Vall d'Hebron Hospital. She received her doctorate in Surgery from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and obtained a Cum Laude qualification.
To complete his training he made several training stays, one of them at the Ricardo Gutierrez Children's Hospital in Buenos Aires and another at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Throughout her career she has combined her care work with teaching and since 2015 she has been Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
She has also co-authored several publications in biomedical journals and has participated in several clinical trials related to lung cancer and lung transplantation.
In addition, she is a member of several scientific societies, such as the Spanish Society of Thoracic Pathology (SEPAR), the Spanish Association of Surgeons (AEC), the Spanish Lung Cancer Group (GECP), the Spanish Society of Thoracic Surgery (SECT), the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS), the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) and the Iberoamerican Association of Thoracic Surgery (AIACT).
