Dr. Luciano Antozzi is a surgeon specialized in bariatric, laparoscopic, robotic, and endoscopic surgery of the upper gastrointestinal (GI) tract. He currently serves as Director of the Upper GI and Bariatric Surgery Department at Hospital Italiano Regional del Sur and as Co-Director of the Center for Special Surgery in Bahía Blanca, Argentina. With over 12 years of experience in obesity surgery and upper GI diseases, he has performed more than 700 bariatric procedures and over 800 complex digestive surgeries as the lead surgeon.

Dr. Antozzi completed his surgical training in Argentina, Italy, and the United States, including a 14-month fellowship in robotic and endoscopic surgery at the University of California, San Diego. He holds robotic surgery certification from IRCAD and has undergone international training in advanced techniques for treating GERD, achalasia, esophagogastric tumors, and revisional surgery.

Academically, he is an active member of several national and international surgical societies, including the Argentine Association of Surgery (AAC), SACO, IFSO, IGCA, and ISS/SIC. He serves as a peer reviewer for the journal Obesity Surgery and has been a speaker and organizing committee member at numerous congresses, including the IFSO World Congress and various Latin American bariatric and metabolic surgery events.

Dr. Antozzi is also the author of numerous scientific publications and book chapters on bariatric surgery, therapeutic endoscopy, and revisional procedures. His approach integrates technological innovation with a comprehensive vision for the treatment of obesity and upper GI tract disorders.
