Dr. Luis Martinez-Piñeiro (FEBU) graduated in Medicine from the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Spain, in 1985, and obtained his M.D. from the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Spain, in 1991. He is currently the Chief of the Urology Service at Hospital Universitario La Paz, Madrid, Spain. Previously he was head of the urology unit at Hospital Universitario Infanta Sofia between December 2007 and November 2016 and F.E.A. at Hospital Universitario La Paz, Madrid between 1991 and 2007. He was a member of the board of directors (EAU Board) of the European Association of Urology between 2004 and 2016. In 2006 he was accredited as a professor by the Spanish National Accreditation Agency (ANECA), and is currently the National Coordinator of the CUETO Group. Dr. Martínez-Piñeiro is currently an active member of the Spanish Association of Urology, the European Association of Urology, the American Urological Association, the International Urological Society, the Spanish Association of Oncological Research (ASEICA) and an honorary member of the Argentine Association of Urology. Dr. Martínez-Piñeiro has published more than 170 articles in Spanish and English, and is Associate Editor of the journal "Archivos Españoles de Urología" and member of the Editorial Board of the journal European Urology.
