Dr. Marina Paradela is a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon at the Department of Thoracic Surgery, Hospital Universitario de Bellvitge in Barcelona, Spain, where he has served since 2023.
She has held prominent roles within the field, notably serving as the Chair of the Congress Committee of the Spanish Society of Thoracic Surgery since 2022.
He graduated in Medicine from the University of Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña, in 2004, and subsequently completed his Medical Residency in Thoracic Surgery at Hospital Universitario de A Coruña, A Coruña, from 2006 to 2011.
Furthering his expertise internationally, Dr. Paradela was a Clinical Fellow at the Centre Chirurgical Marie Lannelongue in Le Plessis-Robinson, France, from 2011 to 2013. Upon returning to Spain, he served as a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon at Hospital Clínic in Barcelona and as an Associate Professor at the University of Barcelona from 2013 to 2016. From 2016 to 2023, he held the position of Consultant Thoracic Surgeon at Hospital Universitario de A Coruña.
Dr. Paradela’s areas of clinical and research interest are focused on uniportal minimally invasive thoracic surgery, superior thoracic outlet surgery, T4 resections and lung transplantation. Her contributions continue to advance these areas, enhancing patient care and surgical outcomes in thoracic surgery.
