Dr. Michael Geoffrey Lim is a fellow in the Division of Colorectal Surgery, Department of Surgery in the Philippine General Hospital since 2021. He finished his medical degree in the University of Santo Tomas in 2013 and finished his general surgery training serving as the chief resident in 2019 in the University of Santo Tomas Hospital. He served as the president of the Philippine Association of General Surgery Residents in the regional and national levels in the years 2018 and 2019, respectively. His main goal at the time was to find a balance between the training and the lifestyle of surgery residents. He was awarded Most Outstanding Resident by the Philippine College of Surgeons in 2020. His main interests focus on various aspects of colon and rectal cancer, primarily in the use of modern techniques such as fluorescence imaging in surgery, intraoperative radiation, and minimally invasive techniques. His scientific interests include technological advances in colorectal surgery, multidisciplinary team approaches and its effects in healthcare, and enhance recovery after surgery (ERAS).
