Patrick Chiasson, MD, MA, FACS is a Canadian trained Minimally Invasive Bariatric and Foregut Surgeon. He has been certified by both the Royal College of Surgeons in Canada and the American Board of Surgery in the United States. He received his medical education at McGill University in Montreal, PQ, a Master’s degree from the Institute for the History of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, and his general surgical training at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS. Finally, he completed his sub-specialty training in advanced laparoscopic surgery at the University of Toronto’s Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery. He has numerous publications to his credit that address such issues as Minimally Invasive Surgery techniques and outcomes, Health Policy, Medical Ethics and Health Law. Dr. Chiasson’s bariatric surgical practice consists of providing both primary and revision endoscopic and laparoscopic treatment options. In addition to his surgical practice, he serves as an Educational Consultant for Ethicon Endo-surgery for both Bariatric Surgery and the Hiatal Hernia/LINX surgery. He is a past president of the AZ chapter of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
