Doctor Peng Sun currently serves as the head of the Department of General Surgery at Shanghai Tongren Hospital. He completed his General Surgery training in Huashan Hospital in Shanghai. He has travelled to the Department of colorectal surgery in Mayo Clinic as a visiting surgeon in 2011. His main interest is the integrated application of ICG fluorescence imaging technology in colorectal cancer surgery, mainly used for intraoperative lymph node imaging, determining the blood supply of intestinal segments, and identifying lymphatic leakage, etc. He also interested in enhanced recovery after surgery measures, where clinical pathways have been developed and research is being conducted on the management of discharged patients.
