The areas of research have predominantly been within benign surgery with focus on optimizing postoperative clinical outcome. The reseach methodology is mainly clinical trials and nationwide epidemiological cohort studies. Credited with > 180 peer-reviewed publication, 8 editorials and 7 book chapters. Supervisor of several PhD candidates and has organized of several international symposia.
