The Association of Out Surgeons and Allies (AOSA) is proud to work with the AIS Channel to present a discussion on the diverse experiences of LGBTQI+ surgeons and trainees.
In this event, you will hear from trainees and attending surgeons on the challenges of being LGBTQI+ in surgical specialties. We will also discuss what individual allies, departments, and institutions can do to alleviate some of these challenges and foster a supportive environment for LGBTQI+ individuals. We will explore how working towards building an inclusive surgical workforce enriches the working environment and enhances the care of the diverse populations that we serve.
