Prof. David Ralph (UK) and his team at the University College London Hospital (UK) will implant an inflatable penile prosthesis and answer all your questions.

PROGRAM

  1. Welcome and Introduction 

  2. Case Presentation

    1. Patient: 22-year-old male born with androgen insensitivity syndrome and consequently a micropenis. Underwent two surgeries: phalloplasty from the forearm with incorporated urethra anastomosed to his native urethra and a gland sculpting.

    2. Procedure: Implantation of an inflatable penile prosthesis.

  3. Surgical Procedure - Steps

    1. Catheter inserted after urethral dilation.

    2. RTE identified and removed bilaterally.

    3. Phallus dilated to 13 mm bilaterally.

    4. Safety check performed (urethral leak and gold post).

    5. Measurements taken.

    6. Device prepared and inserted.

    7. Reservoir inserted submuscularly and ectopically through a second incision.

    8. Pump positioned in the scrotum.

    9. Device connected and position checked.

    10. Closure performed.
