Diversity, equity, and inclusion have quite appropriately become a
central focus for surgical departments and organizations. This
program will share the initiatives introduced by the American College
of Surgeons and by five of the Royal Colleges: Canada, Edinburgh,
England, Glasgow, and Ireland. These colleges collectively represent
over 230,000 surgeons from North, Central, and South America,
Europe, Asia and the Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and include
fellows and members from Australia and New Zealand. The Presidents
and past Presidents of these 6 Colleges will share their structural
organizational and programmatic endeavors to ensure that successful
DEI programs are ubiquitous within their structures. They will share
multiple valuable solutions which can be adapted by surgeons on a
local level throughout the world.
