Rezum Treatment for BPH

Technique description:

1. 3 treatments on each side

2. 3 treatments on each side – 2 into middle lobe

3. 4 treatments on each side – 1 into central lobe

Clinical History:

• Prostate 49gms, IPSS 9

• Prostate 55gms, IPSS 15 on Alfuzosin + Dutasteride

• Prostate 92gms, IPSS 17 on Doxazosin + Finasteride

Learning Points:

• Start treatment 1 cm from bladder neck then every 1 cm.

• Leave needle in place for 1 second after treatment complete

• Minimize movement of the scope

• If cannot get into bladder, treat from apex to base
