The Department of Thoracic Surgery of Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital, affiliated with Tongji University, has pioneered many advanced technologies in thoracic surgery and created a professional brand with pulmonary characteristics. It ranks second nationally in the ranking of “the best specialty reputation of Chinese hospitals” and in “the quantum ranking of Chinese hospitals in thoracic surgery”. It is the largest minimally invasive training base for thoracic surgery of international renown.
With the application of lumpectomy technology, the Thoracic Surgery Department of Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital has now become the world's largest thoracic surgery center counted by the number of cases, and the first in the world by the number of cases in minimally invasive surgeries.
