PROGRAM
1. Intraoperative Diagnosis - Dr. Jurrian Tuynman
Since anastomotic leaks pose a real danger to patient outcomes, surgeons should always keep this problem in mind. To prevent them as much as possible, patient optimization must be achieved. The aspects and characteristics associated with anastomotic leakage should also be known so as to make good decisions regarding the procedure.
However, sometimes anastomotic leaks cannot be prevented, so action must be taken. Recommendations supported by images are given.
2. Laparoscopy (second laparoscopic approach) to diagnose and treat anastomotic leak. - Dr. Nicolas Rotholtz
Reoperative laparoscopic surgery is performed on patients who have already been operated through a laparoscopic procedure, but complications have required a further operation.
The scientific literature on the techniques used in complications is discussed. Videos and images of the techniques, and technical documentation are also explained.
3. Early diagnosis and complementary tests according to anastomotic leak risk factors - Dr. Lucia Oliveira
Given the gravity of anastomotic leaks and how important their treatment is, it is crucial to be aware of the risk factors and the techniques to prevent them.
Despite this, anastomotic leaks can occur, so it is really important to detect them early. In this video, different paths are considered depending on the patient’s characteristics.
The studies and papers that show the relationship between risks and symptoms in anastomosis are also discussed.
