The main topic of this webinar is how to become a leader at your own institution. Doctors have many things to do during their working days, such as enroll patients, prepare talks for learners, and plan new projects. Leadership is not an innate skill; all skills can be taught.

The main issue is that we need to lead in very different situations. Doctors can play different roles depending on when they are working: they can be a clinician, an administrator, an educator, or a researcher. That is the main reason why they are considered multidisciplinary.

The rewards that really motivate people to lead are influencing policy, being able to inspire others, share their point, and change part of our world. Feeling valued and feeling that you have earnt your position are further movitations.

Leadership has five dimensions: self-management, relationships with 1 others, handling tasks, innovation, and social responsibility. The talk ends with some tips about how to successfully develop your leadership skills.
