Clinical Case

BPH refers to a pathological enlargement of the prostate gland. It is a very common disease affecting men over 50 years-old, with a prevalence of 90% in those over 80 years-old. The causes are no clear, but hormone changes are thought to play a role.

Patients with BPH may present with symptoms that vary from mild to severe, and are commonly referred as low obstructive urinary symptoms (weak urinary flow, nocturia, frequent urination, urgency, etc.).

In this lecture Dr. Tev Aho explains us the evolution of BPH treatment, the many options available and how can we tailor the treatment options to the patient, putting him first.
