Colorectal Cancer (CRC) is a common and lethal disease. Its incidence and mortality rates vary markedly around the world. Globally, CRC is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer in males and the second in females, with 1.8 million new cases and almost 861,000 deaths in 2018 according to the World Health Organization.
But, What about México?
Mexico has a population of more than 130 million people. In 2018, 190.667 new cases of cancer were diagnosed, where the CRC accounted for 7.8% of the cases. Mortality in Mexico due to CRC is 6.8%. The decline in CRC mortality going to start after widespread and well implementation of CRC screening and the effective adjuvant therapy become properly use.
