Endoscopic approaches which are meant to be similar to surgery but less invasive have yielded promising preliminary results in the field of bariatrics. Treating bariatric surgical complications through the gastrointestinal lumen only is dramatically less invasive than conventional surgical revision, even if performed laparoscopically. Technological improvements have increased the variety of procedures than can be currently performed.

In this lecture, Matthew Kroh from the Bariatric and Metabolic Institute at the Cleveland Clinic Ohio reviews the most recent data and outcomes regarding the endoscopic treatment of stenosis, leaks and fistula, including the revision of dilated stoma and weight recidivism.
