Laparoscopic gastric plication (LGCP) is a new bariatric procedure that mimics the sleeve gastrectomy with no stomach wall resection. It can be performed by minimal invasive surgery and is cheaper than gastrectomy, as no mechanical sutures are needed.
In this lecture, Karin Dolezalova from the OB Klinika Center for the treatment of obesity and Metabolic Disorders in Prague, Czech Republic, explains the rationale for LGCP and analyzes the results after 5 years of follow-up in a cohort of 200 patients.
