Immune and non-immune mediators of Inflammatory Bowel Disease: implications in its pathophysiology and treatment

This lecture goes through the basics of IBD, like clinical differences and management. It is mostly focused in the immune mechanisms involved and the possible medical implications. Many drugs do not complete all the phases of investigation, resulting in a narrow range of medical treatment for patients with IBD. Azucena Salas explains the latest data obtained by an investigation carried out at the Institut d'Investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi i Sunyer (IDIBAPS).
