The impact factor is a measure of the frequency with which the average article in a journal has been cited in a specific year. It is used to measure the importance or rank of a journal by calculating the times its articles are cited.
The h-index is calculated by counting the number of publications for which an author has been cited by other authors at least that same number of times. In this way, the number provides an idea of the extent to which an author’s work is quoted and how much the author has published.
