It is not entirely safe to use staplers in vascular sectioning, because this technique is performed on the cardiovascular system. It is currently used in some cases, although it will depend on the severity of the case.

Using staplers in these procedures is very complex due to the closeness to the pulmonary artery. In terms of stapler use, surgeons tend to go with tissue thickness as the main factor, and sometimes you can change this criterion and select the stapler based on size or tissue stiffness.

Success in anastomosis procedures depends on the surgeon’s knowledge. Dr. Ben-Or recommends that senior residents take notes on the type of instrument used and gives some tips on technique..
