This presentation shows one of the OpenSourceResearch Collaboration (OSRC) projects in which researchers are taking a new approach to predict the risk of anastomotic leak.

The method is based on analysis of patterns of blood supply to colon and rectum in pre-operative CT scans of abdomen. In the next phase, linking these patterns with the electronic health records will be performed to predict the risk of anastomotic leak.

The presentation includes the principals of data analysis, suggests methods to conduct the analysis and shows the future perspectives of this project.

The presentation orients the viewer about the role of OSRC in this project and how much has been achieved yet.

OSRC is an international organization dedicated to implementing information technologies in surgical research and innovation. OSRC connects the academic surgeons, clinicians and industry to promote innovation in surgery

The presentation is aimed for all surgeons with a special focus on colorectal surgery.  The presentation carries also invitation for all surgeons interested in innovation to join this growing organization.
