This webinar will be a masterclass on how to perform a step-by-step Laparoscopic Right Colectomy with the main objective of avoiding bleeding complications.

Dr. Ahmad Uraiqat points out that it is crucial to clearly identify the anatomical layers and planes and become familiar with vascular anatomy and its possible variations in the colon. He also highlights correct and effective traction and exposure combined with efficient participation of all team members.

Not only does the colon have a highly variable anatomy, but it also includes areas such as Henle’s venous trunk variation. When it comes to Laparoscopic Colectomy, surgery staff includes a surgeon and an assistant.  These procedures must be started using 2 twelve- millimeter trocars for the camera and 2 five-millimeter trocars for the surgeon.

In the first steps, It is important to identify the right ureter and the gonadal. It includes the third part of the duodenum and uncinated process.  The dissection will start from the transverse colon mesentery between the right and left branches of middle colic vessels down over and to the left of SMA and SMV.
