In this talk, we will discuss about the potential of supercomputing-based applications for the biomedical realm in which the Virtual Human Twin is at the center. ELEM Biotech is a spinoff company of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center in which we develop a platform to perform in-silico clinical trials on virtual populations of "avatars" to test therapies, to make them safer, more optimal and personalized. Additionally, our Virtual Humans can be adapted to the patient, creating a personalized computational twin to perform specific therapies. We are focus on cardiac and respiratory diseases, although we also work on other biomedical domains. In this talk we will introduce the main concepts, showcase different examples of our expertise and discuss about the potential implications.
