About SACO keyboard_arrow_down

The  Argentinian Society of Surgery of Obesity, Metabolic Disease and Other Obesity-Related Diseases (SACO) has, since 2000, brought together Argentinian bariatric surgeons and the various disciplines involved in the treatment of this pathology. The Society is based on the following ideals: to promote scientific progress in the diagnosis, clinical evaluation and treatment of morbid obesity and superobesity, to collaborate with national and regional General Surgery Societies, to strengthen ties with similar international societies, and to be a full member of IFSO (INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION FOR THE SURGERY OF OBESITY AND METABOLIC DISORDERS).

Every year it holds a scientific congress that brings together renowned Argentinian and foreign professionals seeking to offer academic quality, peer interaction, and closer inter-society ties.

Dr. Rami E. Lutfi My practice philosophy is to cover all various needs for those struggling with weight. As complex and multi-factorial as obesity is, weight loss can be even more complicated. Treatment plans are based upon individuals’ need. We utilize different resources in our comprehensive program with the help of our two full time nurses, one full time dietitian, and psychologist. While surgery is the most critical step, I strongly believe it is only a piece of the puzzle—along with diet, exercise, and behavioral changes—and our job is to provide support in all of these areas to achieve optimal outcome.
