Minimally invasive surgery has been clearly proven as superior to open surgery and has thus become the standard of care. Traditional minimally - invasive surgery has limitations of loss of rotation and angulation which may present further challenges. Although the robotic platform addresses these limitations, the cost of the robotic platform can preclude its global availability. This program will present an alternative surgical platform which addressed the limitations of traditional minimally - invasive surgery without necessitating the capital outlay required to acquire a robot.
