March 2020 is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and here at AIS, we have decided to acknowledge the date showing different realities of CRC from different countries in different continents.
We have engaged our collaborators and Ambassadors all over the World, and we will show the results every Friday this month.
In this Open Classroom we will address the reality of CRC in Angola.
Angola is the 7th largest country in Africa. It has a total surface area of 1 million 246 thousand and 700 square meters, and an estimated population of 25,813,000 people, according to the latest census. The country is composed of 18 provinces and the capital is Luanda.
Data suggests CRC has an incidence of 2.8%, being surpassed by far by breast, cervix and prostate cancers.
