Single anastomosis procedures are technical variations on traditional Roux-n-Y mixed or malabsorptive procedures. Presented as technical simplifications, there is considerable debate on their efficacy in terms of weight loss and comorbidity resolution. There is still scarce evidence of the impact on quality of life of these new procedures.
This presentation reviews the main concerns about quality of life of the one anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB), single anastomosis duodeno-ileal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy (SADI-S), and single anastomosis gastro-ileal bypass (SAGI). Quality of life can be measured with traditional questionnaires, but we can also extrapolate quality of life facts from side effects or sequelae that may arise from these procedures.
