Your society has, since 2000, brought together multiple bariatric surgeons and the various disciplines involved in the treatment of this pathology. The Society is based on the following ideals: to promote scientific progress in the diagnosis, clinical evaluation and treatment of morbid obesity and superobesity, to collaborate with national and regional General Surgery Societies, to strengthen ties with similar international societies, and to be a full member of IFSO.
